Hi! I’m Marco Aversa, a Research Scientist deeply passionate about the intersection of Machine Learning, Generative Models and Physics. I’m currently at the end of my PhD in Computer Science at the University of Glasgow, with a focus on Deep Learning for Computer Vision. My background in Physics drives my curiosity, especially when it comes to understanding the mysteries of neural networks. Often, these networks are seen as “black boxes,” but I’m determined to use my physical insights to shed light on their workings. During my academic journey, I incorporated physical priors into machine learning architectures, aiming to embed knowledge of partially known systems directly into the learning processes.

My interests span across Data-Centric AI, Physics-Infused Neural Networks, Generative Models and Optical Neural Networks. Each of these domains represents a step towards bridging the gap between the deterministic world of physics and the evolving landscape of machine learning.
